Assist interface

One box that searches as you type and answers when you ask

Assist has two modes in a single panel: instant results while a visitor types, and a written answer the moment they press return. Here is every part, numbered. Then try the real one.

Mode 1

The search view

What visitors see first: results before they finish typing, and a standing offer to turn the query into a question.
  1. One box, two jobs

    Search and ask share one input. It opens from the launcher, your search icon or ⌘K, and replaces your site search.

  2. One keypress from search to answer

    The top row always offers the question form of what was typed. Press return and the same words get a grounded answer.

  3. Instant results, free forever

    Full-text results over your content as visitors type. No AI call, no charge, no cap.

  4. Your brand, if you want

    Any paid usage removes the badge. White-label puts your own assistant name and icon everywhere.

Mode 2

The conversation view

One return key later: a streamed answer grounded in your content, cited as it's written, with a person one click away.
  1. Conversation memory

    Follow-ups like “how fast?” resolve against the thread. Visitors can reopen a recent conversation or start fresh.

  2. Grounded, streamed answers

    Tokens stream over server-sent events, composed only from your content and pinned facts. No invented prices.

  3. Citations built in

    Claims link inline to their pages, with source chips underneath. You see which pages carry your answers.

  4. Follow-ups where you expect them

    Once a conversation starts, the input docks under the thread, chat-style, with a send button.

  5. Human handoff

    If Assist can't answer, or the visitor wants a person, they leave an email and the transcript lands in your inbox.

Around the panel

And everything around it

The panel is half the story. The other half is how quietly it fits into your site.
  • Expanded mode

    On desktop the panel goes full screen, with a rail of every source from the conversation plus your “keep exploring” links.
  • Made for mobile

    Below tablet width the panel fills the viewport. A hosted page covers apps and link-outs.
  • Matches your site

    Accent colour, launcher position and copy, welcome message, placeholder. Styles live in a shadow root, so nothing leaks either way.
  • One line of code

    A single, dependency-free script that never blocks your page load. No framework and no iframe.

Your own triggers

Open it from anything

Any element with data-edge-assist-open becomes a trigger: your nav search icon, a “Chat with us” button, a “Can't find it? Ask” link on your 404. Or drive it from JavaScript. Widget docs.

<!-- Any element becomes an open trigger -->

<button data-edge-assist-open="search">Search the site</button>

<script>
  // Once widget.js has loaded
  window.EdgeAssist.open("search");

The widget on this page is the one you would ship. Press ⌘K, ask it something hard, then add it to your own site.
