Assist features
Everything Assist does, and the controls you keep
Answering
Answers a visitor can check
Grounded in your content
If your content doesn't cover it, Assist says so. It never fabricates facts, numbers or policies.
Citations on every answer
Inline links and source chips. Visitors verify in one click, and every citation is a visit to your content.
Streaming answers
Words appear as they're composed. Repeat questions come straight from a site-wide answer cache.
Page-aware context
“Is there a limit on this page?” is answered against the page the visitor is on, not the site in general.
Real conversations
Follow-ups work, threads survive closing the widget, and idle threads expire so stale context never leaks in.
Extended conversations
Paid, per site: longer threads with deeper memory for visitors working through something. Deep turns meter at 2×.
Instant search built in
Results appear as visitors type, before any AI is involved. One box replaces your site search.
Human handoff
When Assist can't help, the visitor leaves an email and the whole transcript lands in your support inbox.
Content ingestion
Three ways to feed it your content
Content index from your build
A small JSON file your build emits. Assist checks it hourly and re-indexes when its hash changes.
Bucket ingestion
Drop Markdown, text, HTML or PDF into an Edge Storage bucket. Additions, edits and deletions sync incrementally.
By URL
No build step, no bucket: give Assist your URL and it crawls your sitemap and links on a schedule.
Always in sync
Rebuild the site or update a document and the next answer uses the new content.
Up to 10,000 pages
500 pages per site on the free tier, 10,000 with pay-as-you-go. Bigger corpora get a custom deployment.
Private knowledge bases
Bucket-backed sites reject anonymous requests. Your server mints short-lived visitor tokens behind your own login.
Insight and control
You decide what it says
Pinned facts
Short authoritative statements that override site content. One fact fixes every phrasing of a question.
Curated Q&As
Write the exact answer for high-stakes questions. Strong matches return your words verbatim, with no AI call.
Question log and corrections
Browse every question and answer. Correct one in a click and it becomes an override.
Metrics and conversations
Questions per day, answer rate, latency, top and unanswered questions, most-cited pages, and every thread.
Answer cache purge
Clear cached answers for the whole site or a single question, like purging a CDN. Free and instant.
Cache pre-warming
Paid: Assist predicts likely questions, you review the list, and it answers them before the first visitor asks.
Budgets and caps
The free tier can never bill you. Paid usage draws on a budget you set; when it runs out, the widget falls back to search.
The Examiner
An AI review of your content through your visitors' questions, with a coverage score and specific fixes.

The widget
One script, wherever you want it
Chat launcher
A “How can we help?” pill that opens straight into a chat. It inverts its colours over dark sections.
Modal or embedded
Bind it to your search icon or ⌘K, open it from any button, or embed it inline in a help centre or 404 page.
Launcher prompts
Set the pill's message yourself, or rotate a few: “Ask about pricing…”, “Looking for docs?”.
Suggested questions
Up to four starter questions inside the panel. One click begins a chat with the answers you know land well.
Full-screen mode
On desktop, expand to a chat with a citations rail and your own “keep exploring” links. Mobile is always full screen.
Hosted assistant page
Every site gets a full-page assistant on assist.edge.network. Link to it before you've touched your code.
Themable
Colours, position, placeholder and welcome message, set server-side so they can't be tampered with in the page.
White-label
Any paid usage removes the Edge badge. The white-label add-on puts your assistant's name and icon throughout.
Protected by design
The sitekey is origin-locked to your domain, and per-visitor rate limits stop bots burning your budget.
Mobile apps
The hosted page drops into any in-app browser sheet today. Native SDKs for Swift, Kotlin, React Native and Flutter are to follow.
See it annotated
Every part of the search and conversation views, component by component.
Tour the interfaceYour own UI
Build on the same search, ask and handoff endpoints the widget uses.

Assist runs on this site right now. Put a hard question to it on the demo page, then add the same widget to yours for free.
