The core product is free. Full stop.

Not a starter tier with the good parts missing. Geo-routing, instant propagation and the DNS Examiner are all included.

The query limit is soft. Each zone includes a million queries a month. Go over and we'll let you know, but we never block resolution or drop queries. Your domains stay up.

Why free? DNS on a well-run anycast network is cheap to operate, and it's the front door to everything else on Edge. We'd rather earn your CDN, storage and compute than charge you for lookups.

How DNS billing works

Is DNS really free?
Yes, for anyone with a verified email, with no card required. Up to 50 zones with unlimited records on the global anycast network. It's the same infrastructure paying customers use.
What happens if a zone exceeds 1M queries in a month?
We'll warn you, but we never block resolution or drop queries. If you're consistently well over, we'll talk about a volume arrangement. Your domains stay up regardless.
How are add-ons billed?
Backups and managed domains are billed hourly from the same prepaid balance as the rest of Edge, and you can drop them whenever you like. Nothing is enabled by default.
Do I need to transfer my domain to Edge?
No. Keep your registrar and point your nameservers at Edge. If you want a domain without a registrar, test.network and ed.ge subdomains are available as add-ons.
What if I need more than 50 zones?
Talk to us. Agencies and portfolios with many domains get volume arrangements, usually well below per-zone pricing elsewhere.
