test.network

A real test domain, live in seconds

Pick a name, get yourname.test.network: a fully delegated zone with complete DNS control and automatic SSL for $1 a month. No registrar, no WHOIS forms, no propagation wait.

$1/month, up to 5 per account, cancel any time. Free account; no charge until you register a name.

Why bother

Stop working around not having a domain

Tunnels expire, wildcard-IP tricks can't hold real records or clean certificates, and a throwaway domain means a registrar account, WHOIS details and a renewal you'll forget. A test.network subdomain is just a domain.
  • Instant: Edge runs the parent zone, so delegation is live the moment you register
  • Full DNS control: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and every other record type
  • Real HTTPS: automatic certificates with Edge CDN, or any ACME client
  • Points anywhere: your VPS, Vercel, Netlify, a Raspberry Pi

Use cases

Anywhere you'd otherwise burn a real domain

  • Staging environments

A real staging URL your team and CI can reach over HTTPS.staging.test.network
  • Client demos

Review builds before going live on the client's domain. No throwaway purchases.client-name.test.network
  • Webhooks and OAuth callbacks

Stripe, GitHub and OAuth providers want a public HTTPS URL, not localhost.hooks.test.network
  • API development

Real DNS and SSL while you build. Swap the CNAME when you launch.api.test.network
  • Per-branch previews

A VM per pull request from CI, aliased to a subdomain, torn down on merge.pr-142.test.network
  • Learning DNS for real

Practise zones, MX, TXT and certificate issuance on a real delegated domain.learn.test.network

Console, API, CLI or agent

Register it however you work

Grab a name in the console under DNS › test.network, script it over the API, or ask your AI assistant. The Agent API and MCP server can register the subdomain, deploy your app and wire up DNS and SSL in one conversation.

FAQ

Test domain questions, answered

Is it a real domain?
Yes. You get a fully delegated zone for yourname.test.network with every record type, exactly like a domain from a registrar. Only the NS and SOA records are managed for you.
Can I point it at servers outside Edge?
Yes. It's standard DNS: an A record to any server, or a CNAME to Vercel, Netlify or a Raspberry Pi behind a tunnel. Nothing ties it to Edge hosting.
How fast is setup, really?
Seconds. Edge operates the test.network parent zone, so there's no nameserver verification and no propagation wait. Pick a name, register, add records.
Does HTTPS work?
Yes. Point it at Edge CDN and a Let's Encrypt certificate is issued automatically. Pointing elsewhere, any ACME client can validate it, because it's a real domain you control.
What does it cost?
$1 a month per subdomain (also £1 or €1), up to five per account. Registration needs a card on file; the account itself is free.
What happens when I cancel?
The zone is released and billing stops. It's built for development and testing, so don't build a permanent brand on it. That's what your own domain, or an ed.ge domain, is for.
