Compute pricing

Three rates. Billed by the hour. Bandwidth free.

No plans and no instance types to decode. Pay for exactly the vCPU, RAM and NVMe disk you configure, hourly, from a prepaid balance — so a runaway bill can't happen.

Free to sign up. A one-time $5 starter credit once a card is on file.

What it actually costs

Three common builds

Monthly cost = (vCPU + RAM) × 730 hours + disk. These are examples, not plans — change any number and the price follows.

Starter

$9.62/ month

Small sites and side projects. $0.0132 per hour while running.

  • 1 vCPU
  • 2 GiB RAM
  • 40 GB NVMe
  • Unlimited bandwidth, $0 egress
Deploy this build

Standard

$19.24/ month

Apps and databases. $0.0263 per hour while running.

  • 2 vCPU
  • 4 GiB RAM
  • 80 GB NVMe
  • Unlimited bandwidth, $0 egress
Deploy this build

Performance

$38.47/ month

Production workloads. $0.0527 per hour while running.

  • 4 vCPU
  • 8 GiB RAM
  • 160 GB NVMe
  • Unlimited bandwidth, $0 egress
Deploy this build

VMs bill by the hour, so a Standard build run for a weekend costs about $1.26, not $19.24.

Hard caps by design

A surprise bill is structurally impossible

Compute is prepaid. You load a balance and usage is deducted hourly — spend can never run ahead of what you've put in.
  • Prepaid balance

Top up when it suits you, or turn on auto top-up. A one-time $5 starter credit is available once your card is on file.
  • Balance out, VMs pause

At zero, running VMs stop — nothing is deleted. Top up and the VMs we stopped start again automatically.
  • Exact price up front

The configurator shows the hourly and monthly total before you deploy. No egress maths, no fine print.

FAQ

Billing questions

How does billing work?
Usage is metered and deducted hourly from a prepaid balance. Load credit, run what you need, stop any time. There's no subscription to commit to and nothing to cancel.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Running VMs are stopped, never deleted. Data, configuration and IPs stay in place, and the VMs we stopped start again automatically when you top up. Enable auto top-up to avoid interruptions.
Do stopped VMs cost anything?
A stopped VM stops accruing vCPU and RAM charges immediately. Disk keeps billing at $0.074/GiB-month while the VM exists, because the storage is still allocated to you.
Are there egress fees?
No. Bandwidth in and out is included at every size, in every region. The price you configure is the price you pay.
Can I see the cost before I deploy?
Yes. The configurator in the console shows the exact hourly and monthly total for your vCPU, RAM and disk before anything is created.
What about high-volume workloads?
Enterprise volume pay-as-you-go starts at $499/month with volume discounts, a 99.99% SLA and an account manager.

See the price. Deploy. Pay only while it runs.

Configure exactly what you need and watch the hourly total before you commit. Bandwidth is never on the bill.
