CDN pricing

Pay per request. Bandwidth is on us.

The first 500k requests each month are free, then it's $0.25 per million. Egress costs $0 at every scale and in every region, and the free tier stops at its cap instead of billing you.

How we calculated this

Published standard North America / Europe rates for delivery and HTTPS requests. Permanent free allowances are credited; time-limited trials aren't. Estimates, not quotes: real bills vary by region, commitment and contract.

  • Amazon CloudFront: $0.085/GB after the always-free 1 TB, $0.01 per 10k HTTPS requests after 10M free. No native image product: estimated as Lambda resizing at ~$10 per million.
  • Fastly: $0.12/GB and $0.0075 per 10k requests (North America / Europe), $50 monthly minimum. Image Optimizer at ~$0.16 per 1k after 100k free.
  • Akamai: $0.10/GB list estimate. Real pricing is negotiated under an annual contract; image processing is quoted separately.
  • Bunny.net: $0.01/GB in North America / Europe (up to $0.06/GB elsewhere), no request fees. Bunny Optimizer is a flat $9.50/month.
  • Cloudflare: Flat plans with no egress fees; enterprise pricing is quote-only, so it isn't usage-comparable.

Hard caps

There's no way to spend money by accident

Free tiers pause when they hit their limit. Paid usage only starts when you switch it on, and it stops at whatever monthly budget you set. Balances are prepaid and drawn down hourly, so there's no end-of-month surprise.
  • Free tier pauses instead of billing
  • Optional hard monthly ceiling on pay-as-you-go
  • Hourly billing from a prepaid balance

FAQ

How CDN billing works

Is the free tier really free?
Yes. It never charges. It's sized so you can evaluate the CDN with a real workload: 3 deployments and 500,000 requests a month, with every feature switched on.
What happens when I pass 500,000 requests?
Nothing silent. If paid usage is off, delivery pauses until the next month. If it's on, pay-as-you-go continues at $0.25 per million requests from your prepaid balance, up to any monthly budget you've set.
Are there really no egress fees?
Really. Data transfer out is included at every scale, in every region. It's the biggest line on most CDN invoices, and it isn't on ours.
Why charge per request instead of per GB?
Because bytes are what make bills unpredictable. A viral video or a big release multiplies bandwidth; request counts move far less. Sites that serve lots of tiny files pay relatively more on a per-request model, so run your numbers in the calculator above.
What about very high-traffic sites?
Enterprise volume pricing starts at $499/month with volume request pricing, a 99.99% SLA and an account manager. Tell us about your traffic and we'll price it precisely.
Do custom domains or SSL need a paid plan?
No. Custom domains, automatic SSL, image optimisation, purging and analytics are all in the free tier. Paying only buys more requests.
