Storage pricing

$0.015 per GB. Egress and requests: $0.

5 GB and 2 buckets free on NVMe, then one flat rate per GB stored — identical in every region. Downloads and API calls are never metered, and nothing starts billing without your say-so.

Hard-capped by default. No card required to start.

Calculator

What would your bill be?

Slide in your workload. Downloads are where storage bills hide — and where Edge charges nothing. Where a competitor comes out cheaper, the calculator says so.

Edge Storage$3.67/mo

5 GB free, then 245 GB × $0.015. Downloads and requests are free at any volume.

  • Cloudflare R2$3.60
    $3.60 storage + $0.00 egress + $0.00 requests
  • Backblaze B2$5.41
    $1.44 storage + $0.00 egress + $3.97 requests
  • AWS S3$50.75
    $5.75 storage + $36.00 egress + $9.00 requests
  • Google Cloud Storage$74.00
    $5.00 storage + $60.00 egress + $9.00 requests

$47.08/month less than AWS S3 — 93% lower.

Honest note: Cloudflare R2 comes out $0.08 cheaper for this workload. R2 has a larger free allowance, and bills operations beyond it.

Published standard on-demand rates at the time of writing, 1 TB = 1,000 GB. Permanent free allowances credited (AWS 100 GB/month transfer; R2 10 GB, 10M reads and 1M writes; B2 10 GB and egress up to 3× stored). Volume tiers and time-limited trials not applied. Edge charges nothing for egress or requests.

No lock-in

Your data. Free to leave.

Retrieving a terabyte from S3 costs around $90. From Edge Storage it costs nothing — whether it's a restore, a public download or a move to someone else.
How we compare
  • Zero egress fees

Serve public files, restore backups or migrate away entirely. Data transfer out is always included.
  • All NVMe

No spinning disks and no archive-tier retrieval delays. Every object is served at full speed.
  • Never billed silently

Without a card, writes pause at the cap. With one, set a monthly ceiling and writes pause when it's reached.

FAQ

How storage billing works

How does the free tier work?
Every account gets 2 buckets and 5 GB of NVMe-backed, S3-compatible storage. The free tier never charges — it's sized to evaluate with a real workload.
What happens at the 5 GB cap?
Without a card on file, writes are blocked — never billed — and your existing objects stay readable and served. With a card, pay-as-you-go covers it automatically at $0.015/GB-month, prorated hourly, with an optional monthly cap for a hard ceiling.
Are downloads really free?
Yes. There are no egress fees at any scale — which is where S3 bills hurt most. Retrieving your own data costs nothing, whether it's a backup restore or public file serving.
Are API requests free too?
Yes. Reads, writes, lists and deletes are not metered. You pay only for GB stored beyond the free tier.
Is it actually S3-compatible?
The API speaks S3, so the AWS SDKs, rclone, s3cmd and existing tooling work by changing the endpoint and keys. Presigned URLs and multipart uploads are supported.
What if I need a lot more?
Enterprise volume pay-as-you-go starts from $499/month with per-GB volume pricing, a 99.99% SLA and an account manager. Tell us about your workload and we'll price it precisely.
